KYMBO Golf Outing Information
Shortly, after Kim's death, we
received a call from Kris King, a classmate and friend of Kim's since kindergarten.
He wanted to organize a golf outing to help raise
funds for the scholarship in Kim's name.
The first golf outing was held in May of 2004 at Cobbs Creek Golf Course. The golf outing was a great success and in 2005 it became even bigger.
The golf outing continues to be a huge success every
year.
On
June 2, 2007 the Fourth Kymbo Golf Outing was held. Hugh O'Connor won
closest to the pin with a hole in one. It was Hugh's
first ever hole in one after years of golfing. He
knew he had a little help with this one.
The
2007 Golf Outing was also special because the first
recipient to the scholarship graduated from Prendie. Kelly Christ and her
parents were invited to the dinner. Kelly was presented with a bouquet of
flowers and a graduation gift. Kelly was a very good student at Prendie. She
rowed for Prendie's crew team for four years and and was Vice President of the Student Council. She
is continuing her education at Shippensburg
University.
The
2008 KYMBO Golf Outing continued the success of the
past events. We had great weather and another great
crowd. Kim's brother Matt & his foursome continued
their tradition of a last place finish. Matt walked
away a big winner, however, when he won several
prizes at the dinner including an autographed Tiger
Woods framed picture.
We
want to thank you to all who participated this year
andevery year, making this a success. A special
thanks goes to Kris King and his mother, Patty King.
They make miracles happen every year for this event.
